2006 Season

2006 Season (Cincinnati Bengals): James placed second on the team with four interceptions and also ranked second on the club with 15 passes defensed. One of his interceptions came on Oct. 1 against the Patriots, when he picked off a Tom Brady pass in the first quarter of New England’s 38-13 victory. On Nov. 26, he recorded his sixth career multi-interception game when he snared a pair of passes in the Bengals’ 30-0 victory at Cleveland.
2005 Season

2005 Season (Cincinnati Bengals): Started at RCB in Games 1-16 and Wild Card playoff vs. Pittsburgh ... His 931 snaps ranked third on defense and were 91.8 percent of 1014 total ... Has played 16 regular-season games in seven of the last eight seasons, only missed action coming in 2002 with Oakland, when he returned after missing only two games with right fibula fracture.
2004 Season

2004 Season (Cincinnati Bengals): Finished second in the NFL in interceptions (8), just 1 off the league lead... Named first-team All-Pro by Football Digest and second-team All-Pro by College & Pro Football Weekly...Ranked second on defense in snaps played for second straight year, playing 1001 of 1065 (94%)...Tied for the team lead in passes defensed(16), and ranked seventh in tackles (74)...Also had two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
2003 Season

2003 Season (Cincinnati Bengals): Was among six veteran released by Oakland on Feb. 27, and signed March 10 with Bengals as free agent ... Started every game at RCB, getting 16 starts for the first time in his career ... Played 16 games for the fifth time in the last six seasons ... Ranked second on defense in snaps played, logging 1014 of the 1038 total (97.7 percent).
2002 Season

2002 Season (Oakland Raiders): Played for AFC Champion Oakland in 14 regular-season games, with 13 starts, and started all three Raiders postseason games ... Diagnosed with fracture of right fibula after completing Dec. 8 game at San Diego, and was out for Games 14-15 ... Returned to action in regular-season finale with a plate inserted in right leg ... Key performer in Oakland's postseason play, totaling 8 tackles, 4 passes defensed, 1 INT and a forced fumble in the three games.
2001 Season

2001 Season (Oakland Raiders): Led the Raiders with 5 INTs, playing all 16 regular-season games and two postseason games for club that posted 10-6 record and won a second consecutive AFC West title ... Also led the squad in interception return yards (72) and in passes defensed (16).
2000 Season

2000 Season (Oakland Raiders): Left Denver as unrestricted free agent, signing Feb. 28 with Oakland ... Saw action in all 16 regular-season games at cornerback, and played in both postseason games as Raiders won AFC West with a 12-4 record and advanced to AFC title game ... Led Oakland's dominant defensive effort in 27-0 Divisional playoff win on Jan. 6 vs. Miami, snagging 2 INTs, including one for a 90-yard TD.
1999 Season

1999 Season (Denver Broncos): Saw action in all 16 Denver games, with four starts ... Led the team with 5 INTs, returning for 59 total yards ... All of his interceptions came against AFC West rivals ... Tallied 38 tackles on the season.
1998 Season

1998 Season (Denver Broncos): Played in all 16 Denver regular-season games, and in all three postseason games as Denver went on to win Super Bowl XXXIII vs. Atlanta ... In regular season, had 12 tackles (10 solo) and 2 passes defensed, plus 12 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams.
1997 Season

1997 Season (Denver Broncos): Did not play for Broncos, due to torn patellar tendon in his right knee that he suffered in preseason opener July 26 vs. Buffalo ... Underwent surgery, and was placed Aug. 18 on Injured Reserve list.
1996 Season

1996 Season (Denver Broncos): Drafted by Denver in second round (44th overall) ... Signed July 22 ... Saw action in secondary and on special teams in 16 regular-season games and made two starts at RCB ... Posted 22 tackles, 7 passes defensed, 2 INTs and 10 special teams tackles ... Added a forced fumble and fumble recovery that both came Dec. 1 vs. Seattle ... Made first pro start Nov. 17 at New England and had 2 tackles, 2 passes defensed and a special teams tackle.
College

In his four years at Louisiana State, James played in 39 games (started 29) and made 117 tackles (81 solo), recovered three fumbles, caused one fumble, intercepted 11 passes, broke up 20 more, made two sacks (-9) and added five other tackles-for-loss (14). He returned one interception for a touchdown, and also played wide receiver as a freshman in 1992, catching six passes for 78 yards (13.0) with a long of 35 yards and one touchdown. He earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors as a junior in '94, and closed his career by being named to the All-America Dream Team by the Poor Man's Guide to the NFL Draft
