The Patriots head into Sunday's game at Miami tied with the Dolphins for second place in a highly competitive AFC East. The winner of the contest will answer a few questions heading down the stretch toward the postseason. Colvin has amassed 386 career tackles, including 48.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries while starting in 65 of 106 games.
Colvin led the Patriots with 7.0 sacks in 2005 and ranked fourth on the squad with 73 tackles (49 solo).
Colvin's 74 tackles in 2005 were the second highest total of his career, trailing only his 80 stops in 2001.
Colvin was part of a Patriots defense that allowed a franchise-record 10 total points over a three game span late in the 2005 season (12/04/05 to 12/17/05).
Colvin rebounded from injury to record 5.0 sacks in 2004 while appearing in every game for the Patriots. He capped his season by getting a starting nod in Super Bowl XXXIX and came up with a big play when he stopped Brian Westbrook for a 6-yard loss in the fourth quarter.
Colvin led the Bears with 10.5 sacks in both 2001 and 2002 and became the first Bears player to record back-to-back double-digit sack seasons since defensive end Richard Dent accomplished the feat in 1990 (12.0) and 1991 (10.5). He also became the only linebacker in Bears history to accomplish the feat.
Colvin was the first Bears linebacker in 16 years to record double-digit sacks in a single season (Otis Wilson, 1985) with his career-high 10.5 sacks in 2001.
