Full Name - Rashad Steward Baker…attended Woodrow Wilson High School…named to the All-state, All-region and all-group teams during his senior season…as a senior, he caught 37 passes for 730 yards…set school career receiving yards record with more than 1,800 yards…outstanding track athlete who competed in the 100 HH (13.8) and 100 meters (10.7)…was a member of nationally ranked shuttle hurdle relay team with a mark of 56.8, which was .3 off of the national high school record.

Originally signed by the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Tennessee in April, 2004. Released by the Bills in the final preseason roster cutdown on Sept. 2, 2006 and signed with the Minnesota Vikings the following day. Signed with the Patriots as a free agent on November 7, 2006.

2004 Season (Buffalo Bills): In his first NFL season, Baker proved to be a valuable asset for a Bills secondary that suffered injuries to key starters…Baker played in 14 games and started three as a rookie and posted 40 tackles (16 solo) and an interception…he also played on special teams and posted seven tackles (six solo) for the unit.

Four-year starter at Tennessee … started 41 of 45 games during his career … finished his career with 233 tackles, including 174 unassisted stops, 11 interceptions (11th on Tennessee's all-time list), nine of the 11 in his sophomore and junior seasons and recorded 24 pass deflections … in 2003, senior captain … named Division I-A College Player of the Year by the Memorial Football Club of South Jersey … was a preseason All-SEC pick by league media … in 2002, turned in another stellar season as Vols free safety but missed final two regular season games because of knee injury … despite injury, earned first-team All-SEC honors from league coaches and was second-team pick by Associated Press … finished third in SEC and 24th nationally with five interceptions despite missing two games … was tied for lead in SEC with five interceptions before being injured against Mississippi State … his five picks led Tennessee … finished season with 60 tackles … tackle total was sixth on team and included 44 initial hits … Added seven pass break-ups … also finished sixth in league with a 10.8-yard punt return average on 12 tries … in 2001, led team with four interceptions … also saw duty as a punt returner … in 2000, The Sporting News third-team Freshman All-America … Knoxville News-Sentinel Freshman All-Southeastern Conference … recruited as a wide receiver, he was shifted early in the fall to free safety and became an immediate starter.
