Extra Points

Benjamin comes from an athletic family. His father, Ken, played linebacker for the University of Maryland, his mother, Diana, was a synchronized swimmer at Maryland and his sister, Jessica, ran track at Coastal Carolina University and is the South Carolina high school record holder in the 800 meter race.

Benjamin attended the IMG Academy with soccer sensation Freddy Adu. He attended Adu's first game in the MLS and met up with the D.C. United star before a game against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium in 2006.
